School starts back in just a few days. Sorry, kids. Sorry, teachers.

For us, that means Amanda heads back into the classroom to once again expand young minds and convince a room full of sixth graders that fundamental mathematical concepts are, in fact, important. She is an amazing teacher, and her students are lucky to have her!

So, before the school-year craziness begins, we’re taking one final family day this Friday and enjoying a long weekend together.

Now, if you happen to know of a secluded cabin, a little spot on a lake, a beach house, a river retreat, or some other magical place where we can disappear for a couple of days… we’re listening.

Seriously. Send us your best recommendations. We may be looking for a last-minute escape!

And to all the teachers, administrators, staff, bus drivers, and other educators heading back into the trenches: We hope you have a fantastic school year. May your coffee be strong, your patience plentiful, and the odds be ever in your favor.

Y'all come see us! The Texan Express is rolling out to the Sky Valley Antique Tractor Show at Bob's Corn this weekend — Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 7–9.

We're bringing shave ice to cool everybody off. Twelve flavors, pick up to two, and this weekend's featured flavor is Strawberry Shortcake — strawberry and wedding cake syrups with sweet cream on top.

We're loading up the trailer and heading to the antique tractor show at Bob's Corn and Pumpkin Farm — Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 9 to 5.
I can still hear the breeze moving through the corn and feel that rich dirt in my hands like it was yesterday. Riding the tractor with Opa on the family farm: sitting in his lap, enjoying the view, and perfectly happy. Every time I see one of these old machines cleaned up and running, I'm right back there.
That's what we're bringing along with the coffee. Hot cups, fresh-baked pastries, and a whole lot of gladness to be standing in a field again.

Some people wait to be told what to do. We're looking for the other people.

We're hiring at The Texan in Canyon Park — and it's a real job, not a side gig.

Some days you're making drinks all morning. Some days you're prepping and baking. Some days you're out at an event with the trailer or working a catering job. This is a job with a lot of range: coffee, baking, kitchen, catering, trailer, and helping us sell this place along the way.

We're a small family-owned business, so there's no layer of management between you and the owners. If you have a better idea, we'll hear it that day.

Full-time or part-time — we'd rather build the schedule around the right people than force the right people into a schedule. If you're the 5am opener, or you need hours that end mid-afternoon, tell us.

Starting at $17.25/hour + tips. Higher starting pay based on experience.

You'll work hard. You'll laugh a lot. You'll probably smell like espresso and bacon. You'll definitely have stories.
