Our next monthly Park Bench Chat is TOMORROW June 18 from 5 to 6:30pm by the Blossom Street Footbridge (across from , near ). Come visit our Executive Director at the blue tent near the construction site for the Smith Family Pavilion at Charlesbank -- coming in 2026! 💬🏗️

Enjoy lemonade, munchkins (plus dog treats for fur babies) and learn about the past, present, and future of this historic location -- the oldest part of the Esplanade! First 10 visitors will score a collectable sticker for the Charlesbank construction project. You can also see progress on Gronk Playground, opening this summer. Commuters, Runners, Strollers and Rollers welcome. Want to learn more about Charlesbank? Visit the current exhibition by our partners .

Are you excited about events and the 's 2-5-0 Challenge?

Come tomorrow to the Esplanade Hatch Shell for a special event with our partners at . June 17 marks the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill, so the Esplanade will host the concert:
“Echoes of Valor” Celebrating 250 Years of Service and Sacrifice at 7-9:30 PM

Enjoy performances by the U. S. Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus, The Musical Ambassadors of the Army, and more.
To mark this history-making occasion, will plant a Liberty Tree along the riverfront in Lederman Park, named after veteran Dr. Melvin Lederman. Learn more at esplanade.org/tree.

Did you know that the Charles River Esplanade is DCR's most frequented state park in the entire Commonwealth?
And it has over 6.6 miles of shared pathways for walking, running, biking and more?

Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution with DCR
Massachusetts’ state parks played a crucial role in the fight for independence.
Honor the revolution by completing any two of the 2-5-0 Challenge activities below and earn a special MA250 sticker!

2: Explore 2 DCR properties.
5: Take 5 pictures while enjoying DCR places and share with DCR or complete 5 miles of hiking, walking, swimming, running, or biking at a DCR location or spend 5 minutes outdoors without distractions.
0: Help preserve treasured Massachusetts spaces by leaving 0 litter behind when you leave a DCR property.

You’re invited to the Esplanade Association’s Annual Dock Party! 🌅⛵️

Join friends and supporters on July 17 from 6:30–10:00 PM at Community Boating, Inc. for an unforgettable evening of sunset river views, dancing to a live DJ, refreshments and great company—all to raise funds for the free programing, native plantings and improvement projects on the Charles River Esplanade.

🎫 Early-bird tickets are available through July 8 and include dinner, open bar, and one door prize ticket. Reserve your spot now at Esplanade.org/dockparty — link also in bio.

📍 Event location: Community Boating Inc., 21 David G Mugar Way, Boston (note best vehicle drop below)

🚊 Please note: there is no parking at Community Boating Inc. or on the Esplanade. Closest ride-share drop off or T stop: Charles/MGH red line, near the Whitney Hotel (170 Charles Street), then enter the park via the F***y Appleton Footbridge (ADA accessible)

Accommodations: CBI has worked hard to be ADA compliant. The event will take place on the docks as well as the adjacent Eliot Memorial Garden with paved pathways. Music volumes may be high for some attendees so earplugs will be available. More information on the Know Before You Go page at the tickets link.

Celebrate the end of the ’25 GroundBeat season with the featured local R&B, jazz, funk, spoken word, and dance artists: Aric B, Abria Smith, DJ Basi B, and LesleyAnn Moore.

Night Shift Beer Garden is back on the Esplanade! 🍺

In partnership with Night Shift Brewing , you can enjoy a variety of beers, hard seltzers, wines, and non-alcoholic options. Food trucks will be there everyday the beer garden is opened.

From now on to late Fall, come sip into the sunset while you watch sailboats go by on the Charles. 🍻🌅 You're welcome to bring food yourself as well to enjoy with your Night Shift beverages! Beer Garden is family-friendly and pet-friendly. Bathroom stations and Bicycle racks will be provided.
