Did you know that each week million pounds of strawberries get thrown in the trash? You might don’t know that you can actually do a lot of delicious recipes with strawberries instead of throwing them. Also by practicing zero waste lifestyle at home you can
save money from buying less, and you can lower your carbon footprint. The United States Environmental Protection Agency says that by implementing Zero Waste at home you can help peventing pollution involved in the growing, manufacturing, transporting, and selling food. Imagine having the power to help our planet just by not throwing food 😍

Well today we are bringing to you a healthy, fast and delicious way to use your overripe strawberries.

Homemade Vegan Strawberry Chia Jam

Ingredients:
🍓Strawberries
🍋Lemon
🍁Maple Syrup
Chia Seeds

Directions:
Good News! You do not need to be a Chef, just follow these super easy steps:

▫️Place the strawberries in a saucepan and set over medium heat.
Cook until the strawberries break down for about 8 to 10 minutes.

▫️With the help of a potato masher or a spatula mash the strawberries until your get the texture of your preference.

▫️You can now remove the pan from the heat, and add the maple syrup to taste.

▫️Add the chia seeds, and stir to combine. You can also add a teaspoon of lemon juice.
Let stand until thickened.

▫️Transfer the jam it to a jar
▫️Enjoy your homemade jam!!
