Home from the NACCU Conference… and feeling it 😅

Tired? Absolutely.
Inspired? Even more.

There’s something about being surrounded by people who care about what you do—sharing ideas, solving problems, and pushing each other to be better—that just refuels you in a different way.

Now it’s time to take everything I’ve learned and put it into motion—both in my work on campus and with Side Hustle Sweets. Because growth doesn’t happen staying comfortable… it happens when you step away, learn, and come back ready to do things better.

Final day of NACCU—closing things out at the awards luncheon. 👏

Taking a moment to soak it all in: the conversations, the ideas, the innovation… and of course, the food. This dessert? The perfect ending—sweet, a little indulgent, and well-earned after a full few days of learning and connecting.

Grateful for the opportunity to be here, to represent, and to bring back fresh inspiration (both professionally and from the kitchen). Already thinking about how to turn some of these flavors and ideas into something new.

Day 2 of NACCU took a delicious detour. 👀

Snuck away for a quick visit with family working a food expo here in Cincinnati—and let’s just say, it did not disappoint. Between incredible samples and a stop at the Hard Rock Casino, inspiration was everywhere.

And then… the churro cake.
Hands down one of the best things I’ve tasted in a long time—warm cinnamon sugar, rich, buttery, perfectly balanced. You already know I’ll be in the kitchen working on recreating it. Stay tuned. 🍰✨

Nothing says “let’s connect” like custom cookies, and these turned out exactly how we envisioned. Branded, individually wrapped, and designed to make a lasting impression—because the details matter when you’re building relationships in this industry.

From conversations about innovation to sharing ideas around credentials and campus experiences, it’s already been a strong start. And yes… the cookies are doing their job. 🍪

Chocolate lovers… here’s a little secret ☕🍫

Coffee doesn’t make chocolate taste like coffee.
It makes chocolate taste more like chocolate.

Just a touch of coffee deepens the flavor—bringing out those rich, fudgy, slightly bitter notes that make chocolate so irresistible. It enhances the cocoa, rounds out the sweetness, and adds that “what is that?!” moment in every bite.

That bold, bakery-style chocolate flavor?
That’s not an accident… it’s strategy.

Whether it’s a splash of brewed coffee or a hint of espresso powder, it’s one of my favorite ways to take chocolate from good → unforgettable.

Because when you’re baking from scratch, every ingredient should work a little harder. 🤎
