If you think the abuse or the trauma was the hardest part, just wait until your body starts to feel safe enough to come out of survival mode.
That’s when the real pain hits. That’s when you start reliving it. The flashbacks. The nightmares. The triggers that come out of nowhere. The anxiety and fear that live in your body like it’s still happening.
Learning to live with it, heal through it, and cope with the damage it left behind.. That’s the hardest part.
