Well y'all, I am sad to say but I will not be continuing to do the farmstands on a regular basis. Between the rained out days and unfortunately, the thefts that continue even with security cameras.
I may have special stand days where I can be out there watching but that really sucks y'all, I don't want to have to monitor adults. I shouldn't have to.
I've noticed a lot of stands closing because of theft, vandalism etc and it breaks my heart. What was meant as a way to share baked goods with neighbors and friends and make a little extra income on the side has turned into something none of us expected. So don't be shocked if you start to see more and more stands closing...

Farmstands will not be open this weekend. I kinda messed my foot up and won't be able to stand in the kitchen. Sorry y'...

Let me start off by saying any homemade bread is good bread, however... looking through market place and other sites has me perplexed that y'all are selling what you're selling 😂 yes, I said what I said...

There are far too many sourdough fakes, frauds and well, simply put, failures.

First off, if your Sourdough Boule looks like a saucer, spread wide at the bottom, not a lot of height instead of a round like a bowl, it is over fermented, not "perfect" sourdough... yes, I'm talking to you...

If it doesn't rise, get a bursting belly and a peeled back ear, it's under fermented...

Loaves should also have a bursting belly and peeled ear...

If you are using yeast of any kind, it is not authentic sourdough... stop selling it like it is...
People are bumping their starters with yeast, bumping the dough with yeast... to get that guaranteed rise...
Which really sucks because some folks rely on authentic sourdough as part of a restricted diet due to medical, allergies, or personal preference.

Water blisters are a sign of perfect fermentation and they should be light, airy, flakey.

Sourdough is not hard but it takes time and knowledge of how the process happens.

I spent well over a year experimenting before I started selling. I still throw out bread every bake day but that's the thing. If I know it isn't right, I won't sell it...
