Vendor friends, I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with something similar.

On Saturday, another vendor’s tent became unsecured during setup and struck multiple vehicles, including ours, as well as a pedestrian nearby. Unfortunately, our van sustained visible damage.

We exchanged contact information at the event, and I’ve since attempted to follow up several times regarding insurance information so we can begin the claims process, but I haven’t had much success getting things moving.

If you’ve experienced vendor-related property damage at an event before:
• Did you go through the vendor’s insurance?
• Did the event organizer assist?
• What steps would you recommend taking next?

This has been stressful and disappointing, and I’d genuinely appreciate guidance from others who have navigated something similar.
