This is OLIVIA WALTON'S FAMOUS APPLESAUCE SPICE CAKE with HOMEMADE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING graced with a generous dose of the " RECIPE" For all who remember the Waltons TV series this cake was featured in some episodes as Olivia's Prize Winning Cake ! Her cake won first prize at the county fairs as well being a real hit at family gatherings . Originally a 2 layer cake, I also offer a smaller size in 8" square pan. I hope you enjoy this short video about my Mom Ollie Jones who grew up in Canada & began her musical journey learning Classical Violin & the Hawaiian Steel Guitar . This memorial weekend I will be recording several short videos about my memories growing up about my Mom's beginnings of becoming a student, music teacher & eventually traveling from Canada to Oklahoma to get married . Thus a new life and the beginning of a new career playing in Western Swing bands with her triple neck steel guitar ! I'm the sole person who is the memory keeper of these most interesting times from the stories she told me and my personal experiences growing up in a Musicians world . Mom's days were filled with exciting times, tragic times, scary times, and fulfilling times. I hope you listen to my videos as I post them . I will begin posting this weekend . This is the Chocolate Biscuit Cake. A decadent, heavenly loaded chocolate dessert ! This was Queen Elizabeth's favorite cake as well as Prince Williams . He had a large decorated one made as his grooms cake for his wedding and he has one made for his birthday cake every year ! The " biscuit" is what the British call cookies. I've learned many recipes from former chef Darren McGrady who was personal chef to the Queen and Princess Diana and her sons for 15 years. This "cake" is not like a regular cake , but a molded dense chocolate blend with crunchy vanilla butter cookies, then topped with another layer of creamy chocolate. My prices range from $45-$55 dollars for a 8" round with various handmade decorations gracing the top. For the chocolate lovers in your life this will get oooo's and ahhhh's raves !
