For my fruitcake fans I have 11 remaining European Style Brandy Aged Fruitcakes that are available and ready by mid November & I'm making several more cakes that will be ready by mid December. They are $25 ea. My fruitcakes are from a recipe I developed & are made from candied dried fruitcake mix, dates, walnuts, candied pineapple, raisins & homemade candied orange peel all soaked in Brandy. These cakes are then cured for about 2 months ! So tasty and mellow ! You'll not find any like this anywhere in stores . I'll be using all the remaining candied fruit mix this season. It's not easy to find , so next season I may have to order it. So get them while you can at my going price this season . What can be more American than Apple Pie? It's that time of year when many apple varieties are ripe and ready to eat, turn I to delicious pies, cakes, c***r and other apple-ly desserts and treats ! And we think of how many kinds of apple pies there are to make. Pictured in the photos are ALL AMERICAN FRESH APPLE PIE a traditional Pie that's sure to make anyone happy ! But how about PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH APPLE PIE Oh my now this is a rich Pie with a butter crust, fresh apples in a caramel cream sauce then topped with crunchy streusel. I do make other flavors such as FIRE APPLE PIE ( sliced with a splash of cinnamon fireball wh***ey, then there's SOUTHERN FRIED APPLE PIE & APPLE CHEDDAR PIE ( for those who like this unusual yet once popular combination) . Today's tea party at Marland's Grand Home was a great success as always. I'm honored to be the one to provide the desserts/treats for the guests . Everyone has such a great time eating the delicious sandwiches, Scones and desserts and socializing with the wonderful tea flavor of Autumn spice and was it delicious tasting ! The baked items I prepared for the tea was Brown Butter Toffee Pumpkin Cupcakes, Apple Dumplin' Tarts, Stuffed Dates, Maple Pecan Bars, & Decadent Chocolate Dipped Fluffernutter Delights. These goodies i will add to my lists of items that can be ordered . Next tea party will be in February!

Gone to Geuda, Geuda Springs , KS that is . Today was their last Geuda Fest after a 25 year run of it. This little community has a rich history many may not know about . I didnt until recently . Donna and i were informed about it on one of our trips to Etzanoa , when the staff member informed us about it being a Mineral Springs Resort and spa from the late 1800's and early 1900's. That sent us on a quest. The museum was open today so this was my chance to see all the historical items inside . Several of the residents were very helpful in pointing out where some of the famous buildings stood . Below are photos of the Gilbert Hotel where famous gunfighter /gunslinger Luke Short died after seeking healing from the mineral waters . When you look at the photos , if you enlarge you can see and read most of the writings. I'm still trying to get oriented of where everything was located. So much to explore yet. I took my Holly Poppy Doodle dog with me today. She was excited to go she nearly dragged me to,the truck lol!

You know I make boocoodles of flavors of pies for every reason and every season, (35+ and adding new ones all the time😉 ) , but let's bring some fall flavors to the forefront 🍁. Most everyone loves pumpkin pie and I make them delicious, but Sweet Potato Pie is so good too! Now here's a little it of some old time favorites of pies I make: Pennsylvania Dutch Apple Pie, Mincemeat , Butterscotch Cream, Sour Cream Raisin, Old Southern Buttermilk Pie, Raisin, Pecan . I know I must be missing some flavors here. Of course I make all kinds of fruit pies, cream pies & refrigerator pies. Prices range from $15-$25. All crusts are made from scratch , and cream fillings. This week dear customers I'll be baking up the desserts and treats for the Marland's Grand Home Tea Party, Oct 11, 4pm. All the foods for the tea are carefully selected for unique flavors and lovely presentation . As always we will have handmade tea sandwiches made by the staff & volunteers , tasty scones from the Perk and desserts/treats from my Bar-LRanch Brand Baked Goods kitchen. For all my fruitcake fans, your baking girl has been busy making lots of loaves of my ever popular European Style Brandy Aged Fruitcakes . This is my own exclusive recipe! I will have 35-40 cakes ready for the holidays. Of that number 5 are sold already . So to secure yours and have me hold however many fruitcakes you would like , get on my list soon! When they're gone they're gone. I will be using all the candied citron that I have left for this season. Only $25 each loaf. All cakes are cured in brandy a month to 2 months. How many remember your parents making coffee in a Pyrex stove top percolator? I found this one brand new, never used a few years back . I do still make coffee this way sometimes!
