What's up McDowell County North Carolina? We want everyone to know what is happening this Saturday February 7th 2026 in McDowell County. On the East side of the county there are organizations coming together swapping out 20lb propane cylinders along with other things taking place. This is off of 221 by the old Box Car Grill building. Appalachian Navy WNC, Prince Gas, United Christian Alliance Response just to name a few.

On the West side of the county Pay It Forward Network is working alongside 4 other non-profits from out of state, along with 2 local non-profits to bring propane to those in need.
Kelly Tidwell and
Elite Power and Energy
Palmetto State Disaster Response
Broken Angels Emergency Response
Josh Bailey and Family
KAB Village
MoneyWise Community Outreach

The support is here for the people needing propane to stay warm. These events are done to help those in need. Coming together to bring awareness to all organizations doing relief work is and always will be a priority for us at .

If you are at the propane event beside the old Box Car Grill and need additional propane or have larger or additional tanks to fill, come see us in Old Fort.

We need our leaders to get behind these efforts and see the need is still very real in

Governor Josh Stein
Representative Dudley Greene
Congressman Don Davis

Rep. Virginia Foxx

Happy Solstice to all! We will be closed for a family tradition today. Every Winter Solstice, our family hikes deep in the forest and gathers anything winter has preserved or passed in nature. We get home at dusk, on the shortest day of the year, to construct a solstice wreath with our findings. We light the solstice spiral of candles and sit together until the candles have burned. This is a time for reflection, contemplation and manifestation for what is ahead. Absolute gratitude to be able to have this tradition today, while our tiny but mighty bakery waits..ready to create all your holiday orders when we return on Tuesday. Can’t wait to share 2026 with you all!! We will share our solstice creation, this evening ✨🕊️
Peace in your heart.
