🤎 A little life + business update from Mocha Mommas 🤎

As many already know by now, this Mocha Momma is officially a new mama! and right now, I’m choosing to focus on my baby and family.

During my maternity leave, I explored reopening the shop and spent time looking for staff. While I was able to connect with some great baristas, filling a management role proved more difficult. A brick-and-mortar location comes with a level of liability and day-to-day responsibility that, at this stage of my life, I’m not able to commit to in the way the business deserves.

So instead of forcing something that doesn’t fit, I’m pivoting. ✨

I’m actively looking for a small coffee trailer to open this summer allowing flexibility for both family and coffee.

Thank you to everyone who has checked in, supported us, and cheered us on. This isn’t goodbye, it’s just a new chapter and I can’t wait to bring Mocha Mommas back on wheels soon. ☕️

Pumpkin Pie Latte (Iced, hot, or blended) - Pumpkin Pie syrup topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, pumpkin spice and pie crust crumbs.

Pumpkin Spice Latte or Chai (Iced, hot, or blended) - Pumpkin Spice syrup topped with whipped cream and pumpkin spice.

Apple Crisp Latte (Iced, hot, or blended) - Apple and Brown Sugar Cinnamon syrups topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle and cinnamon.

Maple Pecan Latte (Iced, hot, or blended) - Maple and Pecan syrups topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle and crushed pecans.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Cold Brew (Iced or blended) - Pumpkin Spice cold brew with Cheesecake cold foam and caramel drizzle.

Mocha Mommas Hazen: After a lot of thought and too many sleepless nights, I’ve made the decision not to move forward with any additional updates to the Hazen location.

What started as an exciting opportunity quickly came with more challenges than expected—between shipment delays, equipment issues, struggling to find management, plus on top of it all an unexpected (but incredibly welcomed ❤️) pregnancy. This journey has brought so much joy, but it’s also shifted my perspective on what I want my next season of life to look like.

Since announcing Hazen, I’ve been asked constantly: “How are you going to do it all?” “When is it opening?” “What’s going on with the Bismarck location?” And truthfully—over the last few months, I’ve been asking myself the same questions. There were moments I even considered walking away from both shops because it all felt like too much.

Between Mocha Mommas, my other two businesses, and preparing for a growing family, I’ve been stretched incredibly thin. When I gave energy and attention to one business, the others would fall behind—and the cycle never stopped. I haven’t been able to show up for my employees and customers in the ways I’m proud of, and I take that seriously.

I’ve also felt the mental weight that comes with trying to keep everything afloat—missing an email here, falling behind on a task there—and still being met with speculations or criticism online which adds an emotional toll that most business owners carry quietly.

This past week I tried a soft opening in Hazen and I was hospitalized for a full day and bedridden for another day and a half. My body quite literally forced me to slow down when I wouldn’t do it on my own.

So I’m choosing now to step back, ground myself, realign and be fully present where it matters most with the other businesses I have and with my growing family. I’m returning to what I can realistically and joyfully manage.

To everyone who supported the Hazen venture—thank you. I’m grateful for the experience and the lessons learned. As for Bismarck Mocha Mommas, we will be closed tomorrow to unpack things from Hazen but then ready to get back to some normalcy Wednesday!
