Seventeen years ago our family took a chance and built what has become Bishop Hill Bakery & Eatery. Over the course of those seventeen years we have shared countless memories with customers, many of whom I consider friends. It has been challenging, rewarding, and literally a dream come true, to make and serve great food in Bishop Hill, one of the most special places in the world.

But the time has come to make new memories and dreams. And after a lot of consideration and prayer, we have decided to close Bishop Hill Bakery & Eatery. Our family isn’t moving. Sweet Annie Primitives is back in the original bakery building. I will still be working with my friends at Heartland Connections and Crossroads Cultural Connections to promote live music and the arts in our area. And of course we are still deeply involved with our kids’ activities in the area. This area is our home.

We are selling this building and would love to work with someone who would like to open a thriving restaurant. So if you are that someone, reach out to us.

Change can be difficult and we will certainly miss so much about what we have done here. But really we feel overwhelming gratitude to you, such wonderful community for supporting us all these years. We have been honored to be part of the story of Bishop Hill.

The Sunday Getaway Series kicks off this Sunday, January 16th with Still Shine! See the schedule through May below. There will be some concerts on days other than Sundays, but if it's a Sunday you can count on there being live music here in Henry County.

We hope everyone has been staying warm, safe, and healthy. We’ll be back open on Friday, February 11th with Winter Hours 11am to 2pm Fridays-Sundays through March. We’re looking forward to our 18th year - see you soon!

Great music coming throughout 2022: Sunday Getaway Concert Series, Levitt AMP Galva Music Series, and more!

This is a music series which is planning to travel between Cambridge, Bishop Hill, and Galva that will bring great live music to the area almost every Sunday in 2022!

Happy New Year! We will be back open February 11th. Our hours will be Fri-Sun: 11am to 2pm. If you’ve missed my delicious take ‘n’ bake Focaccia pizzas, you can get some Thursday in Kewanee. (I just mixed up the focaccia crust and it will take a couple days before it’s ready to shape!) I’m doing a fundraiser. Just follow the link, order, and pickup in front of my house…🙂
