Hey y’all hey. How’s it going? I hope you took a moment to pause and remember and honor those who sacrificed all.

Hey y’all! Happy primary elections day! No matter who you choose to vote for I hope you get out and exercise your rights.

Now let’s get into these cinnamon rolls. What’s your favorite? From original to orange and everything in between, they will bless your soul. Can we talk about these banana pudding and newly added strawberry banana pudding rolls? Take everything you love about strawberry banana pudding and put it in a cinnamon roll form and you get this glorious creation. And my puddings are made from scratch. We don’t do boxes over here. Hmph.

Hey y’all! How’s it going?

Do you like cinnamon rolls? What about crescent rolls? Have you ever combined the two? Just glorious.

Let’s get into these cinnamon glazed crescent rolls. These are my classic cinnamon rolls, with a few extra folds, rolled into crescent rolls shape, and topped with classic vanilla glaze.

They’re so good and a nice change from the classic cinnamon roll shape.

Hey y’all! How’s it going?

Last week I had the honor to travel to Washington, D.C. again to advocate for small businesses as a part of Meta’s Business Leadership Network. I was one of five Alabama business owners chosen by Meta to represent the State. Each business owner brought a different perspective but all had a common goal of making sure those on the Hill don’t forget about small businesses, discover more ways to enhance our business, and be of service to our communities. Along with Alabama, small businesses owners from around the country descended on Capitol Hill to meet with policymakers to discuss the things that matter most to us.

I met with Senator Katie Britt’s office to tell them about Prewitt’s Flour Shop, discuss privacy laws, advertising on digital platforms, and AI technology and its benefits for small businesses. The meeting was very productive and I was able to let the policymakers know what small businesses in Alabama need from them.

Meta also provided sessions on digital tools, product demonstrations, and advocacy training. In addition, they offered small group office hours where we were able to meet with Meta executives to discuss platform concerns, data centers, and other issues pertaining to small businesses. I was able to help bring a voice to rural Alabama to make sure those communities aren’t left out of the conversation.

In between all of the meetings and sessions we were able to network with other small business owners. Meta made sure that we were taken care of from accommodations, transportation, food, and everything in between. From a rooftop welcome reception to the closing dinner and dancing, Meta left no stone unturned.

I’m grateful that God continues to see fit to bless this little Black girl from Ensley, Alabama and place me in rooms where He needs me to be in. I am able to not only use my voice to advocate for myself but to also use it to advocate for those who need it most. As opportunities presents itself I have to remember it’s not about me, but it’s about God and His purposes.

Where He leads I will follow.

Did you know the I make chocolate chipless cookies? These are made with the same dough as the chocolate chip cookies but without the chocolate. And yes, they are different than sugar cookies.

Hey y’all! How’s it going?

I just couldn’t let Women’s History month pass without honoring the woman who helped mold me into the woman, wife, and mother, cook, and baker I am today…my sweet momma who’s in heaven; Patricia Williams.

My momma was an amazing cook and master griller but didn’t bake a lot. One thing she did bake was sweet potato pies and they were the best. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas she would whip up 8 pies and always used a potato masher, which I still have, and a big spoon. She never used a recipe. After she died I took over making holiday meals and boy was it a chore to try to get her sweet potato pies just right. A pinch of this, a lot of that, pour the sugar…never measure…just eyeball it. Taste it and see what’s missing. Imagine this 22 year old girl whose momma died just 7 months prior trying to remember all of the pinches and dashes to recreate her huge holiday meal. My Lord. At that time, and even now, I was grateful for all of the times she would call me into the kitchen and say taste this, tell me what I need to add; what’s missing? At the time I would be like momma you don’t need me for this, you already know. She didn’t need me but she was teaching me. Helping develop my tastebuds…teaching me how to use my nose to smell when something was done and my eyes to see when a batter was just right. She didn’t use measuring cups; she used her five senses. I find myself doing the same and I also call my daughter into the kitchen and say taste this, tell me what I need to add; what’s missing?

Although my momma didn’t bake a lot she allowed me to explore baking and cooking at an early age. I remember grabbing one of her old cookbooks and trying recipes like a cake that I added random ingredients to (fruit wrinkles) and caramel brownies that my daddy loved and would take to work.

My momma was the best. I only had her on this earth for 22 years and while the years may have been short, the memories are long and impactful.

So when you order from me you’re not just getting baked goods, you’re getting a part of my momma’s heart and soul that she poured into her daughter so she would know just the right amount of pinches and dashes to use.

Through lots of trial and error I have perfected my momma’s sweet potato pie. Last holiday I tasted the batter and instantly teared up. It was my momma’s pies.

Hey y’all! How’s it going? Let’s get into this cobbler and banana pudding.

Banana Pudding was one of my daddy’s favorite desserts. His mom used to make it for him all the time. After she died I started making it for him. Just like his chocolate cake, he wouldn’t share this either. lol My daughter also likes banana pudding, both traditional and strawberry. My banana pudding is made with homemade custard. No box mixes for me.

And this peach cobbler…🙌🏾 My maternal grandmother was known for her peach cobbler. She died when I was just 10 years old. My Uncle would also bake it, using his mom’s recipe. When I started baking peach cobbler, I had to channel my memories. Double crust and the right amount of spices…my Lord is it good.

Hey y’all! How’s it going?

Listen. Have you ever eaten homemade bread? Ever made any? There’s nothing like the smell of bread baking in your oven. 🥰 And the taste? Just glorious. Homemade bread has ingredients you know and can pronounce instead of a label full of things that you have no idea what it is.

Last week before I started dinner I whipped up some dough to make bread to go with the meal and a quick dessert or snack for the next day. Having a good base recipe allows you to make bread so make different ways. I used half of the dough for garlic bread and the other half for cinnamon twist bread with glaze. They were both so good!

Bread isn’t hard to make but if you don’t want to be bothered you can always order from us.

Hey y’all! How’s it going?

Listen. I made a mistake. 😩 Last week I also made danish trays for a conference along with the cinnamon rolls. The mistake was I forgot how much my family love danishes and only made a half batch for them.

Y’all. The next day my daughter was like mommy there’s only ONE danish left! I should have asked you to put some up for me but didn’t think I needed to. Later that day my son was like you’re gonna have to run those back because they were good! Then that evening my husband also asked for more. 🤦🏾‍♀️😂 The dudes had a good laugh when they discovered they tag teamed the danishes. My husband attacked the cream cheese danishes while my son demolished the strawberry ones.

So the next day I whipped up more but this time I learned my lesson and made a full batch of cream cheese, strawberry, and raspberry. They were in heaven and were hovering waiting on them to be done.

My family isn’t huge dessert eaters and don’t like overly sweet desserts but apparently danishes are their jam.

Hey y’all! How’s it going? I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and that the new year has been good to you. I ended the 2025 baking season by blessing some souls with free Christmas desserts courtesy of one of my wonderful customers. God placed those desserts in the right hands at the right time. He’s just awesome like that.
