REMINDER: Any Village resident who wishes to run for a Village Council position in the November 3, 2026 election...
You will need to file an Affidavit of Identity and a nonpartisan nominating petition with the Birch Run Township Clerk by 4:00pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Both of these forms are available at the Birch Run Township Office during normal business hours.

For the Village, trash collection day for this week is Friday.

📢 Holiday Collection Delay Reminder 📢

Due to the holiday, there will be a one-day delay for trash and recycling collection the week of May 25th. ♻️🚛

👉 Example:
If your normal collection day is Monday, your pickup will move to Tuesday.

Please have all materials at the curb by 7:00 AM on your delayed collection day.

UPDATE: From MDOT, as of today, May 26th, Curtis Road is still the detour for the 5 bridges. The contractor plans on shutting down Curtis Road and detouring to Busch Road, hopefully by the end of the week. This will be for approximately 2 weeks. Once the work at Curtis Road is finished, Busch Road will be closed, and the detour route will be Curtis Road for the remainder of the project. The contractor plans on having the project completed by August 1st. If they can open the other remaining bridges earlier, they will as soon as possible.

Michael from Affordable Exteriors has pulled a peddler's permit for door-to-door solicitation in the Village. This permit is good from 4/29/26-5/28/26. As a reminder all registered peddlers will have a Village of Birch Run lanyard.
