It is with heavy hearts that the Rolston family shares the passing of our beloved Pop—the patriarch of our family and the heart, soul and “social butterfly” of Pop’s Sugar Shack.
What started as Pop’s dream became so much more than an ice cream shop. For 15 seasons, Pop’s Sugar Shack was a place where friends gathered, families made memories, and strangers quickly became friends. Pop loved nothing more than sitting on the deck with a chocolate milkshake or ice cream, sharing a laugh, telling stories, and watching everyone enjoy themselves.
If you ever stopped by the shop, chances are Pop greeted you with a smile, a joke, or a conversation that made you feel right at home. That was just who he was. He never met a stranger, and he had a special way of making everyone feel like family.
Over the years, many of you became exactly that—family. The friendships and memories created at Pop’s Sugar Shack meant the world to him and to all of us. He was so proud of what the shop became, but even more proud of the community that grew around it.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for 15 wonderful seasons of support, laughter, friendship, and love. Thank you for helping make Pop’s dream a reality and for giving him so much joy throughout the years.
While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in the memories we shared, the smiles he inspired, and the community he helped create.
With love,
The Rolston Family
