How can I share the last 18 years with photos? It's impossible.
I started this business with no business knowledge but I did know how to make a good pie. And really how much more did I need to know, right?
Well, I did need to know more than that but what was most important in the beginning was the PIE. The rest came later annnnddd I'm still learning the business end of it!
But I still make an excellent pie if you don't mind me tooting my own horn.

I've had the most wonderful, amazing, difficult, tearful 18 years. Sweet Things team members, customers, store employees and owners. You all have given me such a gift.
The gift of your love, trust, encouragement and constructive criticism.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It seems as if there should be a bigger way to say thank you but just know my heart is bursting as I say it.
YOU are what made this business what it is. YOU sharing, eating, enjoying the Sweet Things by julie pies, scones, hand pies, brownies, granola bars and granola for 18 years.
It just dawned on me that this is similar to raising a child and when they reach the ripe old age of 18, they fly free.
I have found, actually they found me, Kortney and Antonio to turn the recipes and methods and business over to.
😊 This will be their business/baby now and they are excited!
I have complete confidence in them and you should too! I will be training them in the Sweet Things ways and they are committed to maintaining the consistency of what I have developed.

In my life BP (before pies) I was a decorative painter. I taught others how to paint with acrylics, built and painted shelves, signs, benches, garden art etc for bazaars and gift shops.
This is one of my watercolors of one of my pies using a cartoon app. ❤🥧

Marionberry pie with an almond crumb topping!
We package the crumb topping separately for a delicious reason. 😊
By baking the pie until it's set up (not runny) then sprinkle the topping on, it won't sink into the berry filling.
Return it to the oven for a bit to lightly toast the topping!
We love this pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. So delicious.
