Gulf Coast Bicycle Club Profile The Gulf Coast Bicycle Club promotes cycling as a fun, safe, and healthy lifestyle. Join us for fitness, fun, and friendship! Come ride with us!

We host group rides, events, and races along the MS Gulf Coast and advocate for better bike routes in our community. The Gulf Coast Bicycle Club (GCBC) is a welcoming and passionate community of cyclists who ride for fun, fitness, friendship, and advocacy. Whether you're a seasoned rider or just starting out, we invite cyclists of all ages and experience levels to join us on two wheels. Throughout

the year, GCBC hosts a variety of organized rides and events—from competitive races to relaxed, social rides. One of our signature events is the monthly TatoNut Ride, held on the first Saturday of each month. This no-drop ride begins in downtown Ocean Springs and winds through the scenic Gulf Islands National Seashore. The ride ends with a stop for famous TatoNut donuts—always a highlight! We encourage members to stay connected by following us on Facebook and Meetup, where we share real-time updates on club events and rides. These platforms are the best way to receive timely announcements about schedule changes or weather-related cancellations. Our club is committed to promoting safe riding practices. We ask that all riders wear helmets and follow traffic laws to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. We’re more than just a cycling group—we’re a community.

What an incredible day with the Boys & Girls Club of Bay St. Louis! 🚴‍♂️☀️

From 10 AM to 2 PM, the boys and girls club hosted their annual Spring Break Bicycle Rodeo, welcoming groups of children—ranging from just 5 years old to preteens—for hands-on sessions focused on bike safety, basic maintenance, and proper helmet fitting. Each group spent about an hour and a half learning essential cycling skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Thanks to generosity and teamwork, this event was a huge success. The Bay Rollers provided helmets, the Gulf Coast Bicycle Club supplied bike tools, and Tri-Hard Sports contributed additional gear and free repairs. The volunteers helped each child get their helmet on properly and made adjustments to the bikes as needed.

After the safety demonstrations, the excitement really took off! With a road safely closed to traffic and supervised by Boys & Girls Club staff and the Bay St. Louis Police Department, the kids had the freedom to ride, practice, and enjoy the thrill of cycling in a safe space.

This annual event is a true highlight of Spring Break for these kids and it brings smiles, confidence, and joy to so many young riders. We’re already looking forward to next year—and we’d love even more helping hands to make it even bigger and better!

A very special thank you to Myron Labat, Heather Fetter, and Patrick O’Connor of the Bay Rollers, who have been supporting this for years. Beth Abadie of the Gulf Coast Bicycle Club, and David Lalejini (in both clubs) were also there. Thanks to all volunteers for taking time out of their busy schedules to support such a meaningful event.

Together, we’re building a stronger, safer, and more joyful cycling community—one child at a time. 💙🚲

Please keep this club in mind when you have bike your child has outgrown, that needs a new home.

Neil will be going Monday morning to move the trailer from Ocean Springs to Long Beach. They'll need a couple volunteers at 12 noon, Monday, January 19th, to help with the clean up at Storage Choice, 206 East Railroad Street Long Beach, MS. If you can help please respond in the comments. Thanks!
