This fine Wine Wednesday we are flipping the script and giving it up for Lauren Hafer — our amazing Beverage Manager and in-house Moose sommelier. She recently completed her sake sommelier certification in addition to her wine sommelier certification and she is our very own employee event planning extraordinaire.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED AT THE MOOSE? A little over 2 years but I’ve been in Big Sky for nearly 20 now!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOOSE DELI ITEM? I like the Italian, but I add a ton of pickles to mine.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOOSE GROCERY ITEM? I love the Boursin cheese for a nice snack.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BEVERAGE AVAILABLE AT THE MOOSE? I love sake of all kinds, but love to grab a can of Night Swim on the go!

DO YOU PREFER SUMMER OR WINTER? Summer!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE OUTDOOR ACTIVITY? Tie between rafting and hiking with my dog Roscoe!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BIG SKY? I love that this community can come together with a purpose and get just about anything done.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOOSER MEMORY? Doing the Wine Walk for our employee appreciation—we visited locally-owned restaurants and paired wines with their foods. We went to the Rocks and had Middle Eastern wine and hummus, Fried Chicken and Champagne at Milkie's (It was a football Sunday, but of course), and enjoyed dessert wines and sweet offerings from the Blue Moon Bakery around a firepit.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO?
We are working on a great new addition to our beverage department, coming this summer, so look out!

Thanks for all you do to make the Moose more magical and for your amazing wine and sake recs, Lauren! Be sure to say cheers next time you see her at the Moose or hiking around town with Roscoe!
