Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Why not surprise mom with some homemade Pistachio cookies or a Lemon Cream pie. Orders will be ready Saturday May 9 at Grunst Brothers.

Today has been a full day of juicing limes and making graham cracker crumbs. Hopefully these will be the last limes I have to juice. While Easter week is busy, I always find it a fun time. See everyone Saturday for their pies.

Deviled Strawberries

This is a very easy recipe for a hot summer get together. I made these last night for a gathering and they were gone in no time.

18 strawberries
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/2 tsp vanilla
4 oz. Cream cheese, softened
2 Tablespoons sour cream
1/3 cup powder sugar
2 Tablespoons graham cracker crumbs

Cap and cut strawberries in half, scoop out center. (I cut a sliver off so that they would sit flat)

Filling:

Whip the whipping cream until stiff peaks form.

Beat cream cheese, vanilla, sour cream and powder sugar together until smooth.

Fold or mix in the whipping cream just until combined

Transfer to a piping bag (you can also use a ziploc bag), pipe into strawberries

Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs

I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful summer we are having!

As many of you know I make sourdough for Hilhof Dairy and Ward Farms. Lately, I have had some folks ask me if I would make them a loaf of sourdough bread. I am more than happy to make a loaf of bread for you! Sourdough is a multi-day process however, so I need ample time to make sure your bread is fresh and ready for you. Below is a chart that lets you know when you need to place your order by so you can pick up your bread on your desired date. I am happy to make whatever flavor you would like! Plain loaves are $8, flavored loaves are $10, and dried fruit loaves are $12. To place your order, please call or text your order to (231)-598-3449. Please tell me your name, your number, desired pickup date, and what type and quantity of bread you would like. Thank you!
