Another Kauneonga Lake Farmers and Makers Market will take place today at Duggan Community Center from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. These markets, put on by the Bethel Local Development Corporation (BLDC), regularly take place indoors during off-season months. This May Market will be the last one held indoors until much later in the year--the June Market will once again be held outdoors on Memorial Square across from all our new KL restaurants.

Sticky Fingers Delectables will be in attendance with many frozen soups but also a good variety of liquid soups which can be taken home and heated up for immediate consumption. Lunch or dinner, here we come! One new soup I am adding to the menu today and also bringing to Duggan School is "Creamy Cauliflower and Bacon Soup." This thick and scrumptious soup is full of onions, scallions, garlic and bay leaf, all blended together in a cream base. The soup is very filling.

Many people have been requesting more dairy-free options at our ice cream counter so this week I ordered another delectable sorbet for our ice cream cabinet: Lemon Sorbet. This light but fantastically tasty confection goes well with our other non-dairy options: Raspberry, Sour Cherry, and Mango Sorbets. But it also pairs very nicely with our Vegan Killer Chocolate. (Lemon, as it turns out, compliments most other flavors under the sun.)

Just a reminder on this HOT DAY!!! Sticky Fingers Delectables is open today from 3:00 - 8:00 PM. Come by for some ice cold ice cream and try out the NEW FLAVOR: LEMON SORBET! YESSS!!! You've waited and bided your time over three days of cold, boring, drenching rain. TIME TO CELEBRATE summer with Sullivan County's Best ICE CREAMS!! Friday afternoon Kevin and I made up a big batch of Split Pea Soup. On the menu above it says this is 'NY' Split Pea Soup but actually it is more "French Canadian Split Pea Soup" because it is made with yellow split peas instead of the usual American green peas. -- We will also make up 14 quarts of the simply scrumptious Lemony Lebanese Lentil Stew which (as raindrops tinker on the roof above your head) are sure to transport you to the shores of an Eastern Mediterranean country whence this recipe springs.

By mid-afternoon Saturday too I will again be producing our ever-popular "Classic Beef Chili" and possibly also a batch of "French Bistro Cabbage Soup." Both of these meat / chicken-based soups are deeply fragrant with special spices: cumin, cilantro, coriander, caraway seed. Yumm yumm! The nice thing is you don't even need to consume these soups anytime soon. All of our soups and stews can be frozen for up to six months and also make a simple and delicious repast when served cold or luke-warm on hot summer evenings. Hate cooking in the heat? Hate cooking in the cold? No matter! Sticky Finger's "Soupy Soup" is the answer for any day when you just don't feel like cooking, for whatever reason.

It is so hot AGAIN!!! For this reason, Sticky Fingers is AGAIN opening up from 4:00 - 8:00 PM today to slake your thirst and cool you down (all whilst delighting your taste buds). Vegan Killer Chocolate is now back in stock, along with Apricot Orange Blossom and Mint Chip--all of which we ran out of over the weekend. See you here? See you here!!

Our weekend SoupySoup is perfect for the day when Mother Hubbard's cupboard is bare or you're just not in the mood to cook. Today and tomorrow will be hot--why are you cooking in such beautiful weather? All our soups and stews are made from scratch, in-shop, and can be frozen for up to six months from production date. Many of the soups and stews are so dense you can splice them with water to double their volume.

With Memorial Day now squarely in front of us, all the world seems to be talking ice cream. We have lots and lots of it and it fills our four freezers. From Killer Chocolate to Salted Caramel Pretzel to Apricot Orange Blossom to Coconut Almond Joy, your favorites are back in stock ...

This weekend is Mother's Day. Sticky Fingers will be moving its entire operations on Sunday, May 10th over to Sullivan Public in Eldred from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. If you are going out for brunch with Mom and wondering what to do before or after, do come on by. A variety of local businesses and organizations will be present as part of the Second Sunday Market. It will be a bustling scene!

We from Sticky Fingers are going to be bringing along a selection of some of our most popular ice creams and also a bunch of our frozen soups (which you can take home, quickly thaw out, and spare Mom her usual kitchen drudgery). Please note that while we are down in Eldred, our brick and mortar shop will be closed. I'm hoping we can get back to the storefront by about 4:00 PM or so.
