This week has been just bittersweet for me. There is the excitement on the new path in life, but there is also sadness in leaving behind something I know so well. As I prep for the last couple of orders and farmers' market, I found myself thinking this is the last batch of such and such, this is the last of this ingredient, etc. All in all, I would not trade the last 20 years for anything in the world. It has been the place where I grew, not only as a baker, but as a person. I started as a young 22 year old, one of the youngest at my first baking job in a restaurant in SF. Now, much older (and definitely wiser) I can not help but thinking of all the people who had helped me, he chefs and pastry chefs who trained, guided, inspired, and sometimes yelled at me. People who had helped me shaped my personal style. I remembered crying on my first week of internship at the Ritz Carlton because I could not finish my duties on time. I remember being scared s***less after being promoted to be a pastry chef 4 months after graduating from culinary school, not really knowing what to do. Eventually starting my own business, from struggling to make ends meet to being able to finally took myself to dream vacation to Paris and Amsterdam for the first time. It has been a journey and I would not trade that for anything in the world. Thank you for being a part of that journey! Tomorrow will be our last day at and ever. I hope to see you all there!❤
