Hello, BER months. 🍎

September is here, and it’s definitely beginning to feel like fall around the Apple Barn. Cool mornings, the first changing leaves, and a bakery case that is officially leaning into all the good stuff.

Pumpkin crumb muffins, peach crumble cinnamon rolls, maple apple cheesecake, hot apple cider, and plenty more coming out of the kitchen.

We’re ready for you, fall. 🍂

We’re so excited to welcome Jenifer Morse of Heavenly Creations to the Apple Barn for our Pressed Flower Trivet Workshop. Choose your flowers, create something completely your own, and Jenifer will take care of the professional finishing afterward.

Be honest. Who’s already counting down to Pickle Fest?!

On September 19th in Vermont, the Pickle Festival at The Apple Barn takes place as a full day of briny foods, contests, music, and family fun in Bennington. Held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the festival celebrates pickling, preserving the harvest, and just how creative people can get with a jar of cucumbers. One of the biggest highlights is the Big Dill Pickle Competition, where homemade pickles are judged for a chance at bragging rights and a cash prize. Visitors can also stop by the interactive Pickle Lab to learn how salt, brine, and time turn fresh foods into pickles while exploring the process through touch and smell. Food gets especially fun here. You can expect everything from classic pickles on a stick to unusual treats like pickle milkshakes and pickle slushies. The Mini Cider Donut Eating Competition also returns for another fast-paced festival challenge. Throughout the day there will be live music, scavenger hunts, kids activities, and room to wander around the grounds. Sir Pickton, the festival’s pickle mascot, will also make appearances and pose for photos. It all takes place at The Apple Barn & Country Bake Shop at 604 US-7 in Bennington.

Fresh, local, and absolutely bursting with August. 🌽🍅🍑

Armstrong Farm sweet corn is here, and if you know, you know. It’s simply some of the best around. Stop in and taste the difference!

We’ve also got a huge selection from Wildstone Farm, including organic kale, cucumbers, squash, broccoli, eggplant, carrots, sunflowers, and those incredible heirloom tomatoes that actually taste like tomatoes.

Plus, the produce tables are loaded with:
• Pennsylvania yellow, white & donut peaches
• Nectarines
• Fresh-picked blueberries
• Radishes
• And plenty more arriving as the season rolls along

This is one of our favorite times of year at the Barn. So much good food, grown close to home and picked at its very best.

It’s Sample Sunday at The Apple Barn!

If you’ve been meaning to stop in, today is the perfect day.

We’re pouring, scooping, and sharing some of our favorite finds, from our own fresh sparkling apple cider and Vermont maple syrup to maple applesauce, traditional apple butter, smoked maple cheddar, sweet fire beets, ranch dill pretzels, and even blueberry lavender wine jelly.

You’ll also find plenty of new products throughout the store, including locally made favorites, blueberry treats, and honey harvested right here on our property.

Come wander the shelves, discover something unexpected, and taste before you take it home. We think you’ll leave with a new favorite.
