Up next was our alligator Doughki!! We were a bit obsessed with the show Marvel Comics Loki and fell in love with the alligator! This sculpture took so much time to create and had so many pieces 😂 I think mom was working on his tail and legs for a solid month! We even got a faux alligator leather metal press and baked the pattern into every scale we used. Doughki also has one gold tooth incase you missed it! 😊😉

Up next was PAIN DOUGHLORIAN, BABY DOUGHDA and PANDROID! I think this year we started to get a better grip on things but we were still using the fabric undergarments and we just used a doll for baby doughda 🫣. This was the first time we used our deck oven to make the weapon as one big piece! The pandroid was also so much fun to make and is still lurking in our back patio! 😂 This was the first time we had an outside attention from outside Benicia. One of our customers messaged me and said we were trending on Reddit! (I honestly had never heard of Reddit at the time 😩🤣)

So Catherine Pervan have been hard at work for this years scarecrow, I thought it would be fun to look back over the years at the other sculptures we’ve made! This was the first year we ever participated in the Benicia Main Street Scarecrow competition! We called it “Game of Scones!” (Every year, there has to be at least one terrible pun!! 😂😊)

We literally had no idea what we were doing but we were armed with some burnt baguettes and a lot of zip ties!! Fun fact…that skelton had my exact bone lengths because we use me as the size guide for it!
