This is a part-time (20-30 hours per week), option to transition to full-time position. There will be a couple early morning donut frying/decorating/counter service shifts (3am to approx. 9am), as well as a couple later-start shifts (9/10:00am to approx. 3pm), which will focus on counter service and bakery prep. Experience desired, but not required. We are open to training the the right candidate who has a desire to learn about baking!
We are a local donut operation with two locations in Bend.
This position is physically demanding: twisting, bending, mixing, occasionally lifting 40 lbs or more. You have to be able to withstand significant stretches of time on your feet. A certain level of stamina and physical fitness are necessary.
Responsibilities will include:
Utilizing knowledge acquired from our training program, to execute specific recipe components, fry/frost/decorate donuts, and perform all necessary procedures related to production in the bakery.
Following and complying with all established procedures and decorating standards, including but not limited to assembly, equipment standard operating procedures, weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
Time management and accountability. This is a deadline-driven position that requires applicant be able to work under the pressure of the clock, without sacrificing aesthetics.
Ability to ask for help, and work as part of a team when required.
Attention to detail and maintaining a tidy and orderly work space.
There may be some delivery driving involved, so we are hoping you have a clean driving record—this part of the position may be temporary, ongoing, or intermittent according to need. We do intend to hire a driver-only team member, but are still waiting for the right candidate to come along. If you are unable to, or have no desire to partake in this task, it does not preclude your application from consideration. Although deliveries would be made in one of our company vehicles under our insurance policy, we also hope that you have reliable transportation to and from work.
Competitive pay based upon experience and the opportunity to make great tips during prime-time hours!
Cascade Culinary Institute students and alum encouraged to apply. Internships considered, and generous signing bonuses offered to CCI or other culinary program graduates.
