Great news! My kiddo is on the mend from her tonsillectomy, which means she’s finally sleeping and I can bake again. 🎉🥹🙏🏻

I had different plans for these cookies when I cut them out, but they turned out way cooler than the original design!
They are for my daughter’s fifth birthday, and the only thing more “her” than rainbow unicorns are glow-in-the-dark-splatter-paint rainbow unicorns that she helped paint.
She is my fiercest wild child and I am constantly inspired and amazed by her creative mind and artistic nature. Big love to my birthday girl!

March is a weird month for me. Especially the last two weeks of it. They hold some hard memories of love and loss but as the years have passed, they’ve also come to hold hope.
Rainbows being the such a symbol of hope, I didn’t think it was any coincidence that I’d been commissioned to make some this very week.
These beauties were part of a much larger order so I spent several hours with them and the whole time the song “Rainbow” by Kacy Musgraves was playing in my mind:

My favorite thing about custom orders is drawing inspiration from the parts of my client’s personality that I pick up on in our interactions. It was easy to see, based on my conversations with her husband, that this birthday girl is a super fun person with great style which made this theme a blast!
