This is my latest Cakes4Kids donation. The boy asked for bowling theme, noted he LOVES green and wanted a chocolate cake. I love bowling as I grew up loving and doing it weekly or more on league and with my mom and sister. If you aren’t sure what Cakes4Kids is, it’s an organization that works with children in foster care, waiting to be adopted and needy families who don’t have enough money for day to day life, so can’t give their children birthday cakes or presents. The bakers aren’t all professionals, but mostly caring everyday people who give their time and efforts to these children who will be our future. They have no choice how they came into the world or get to choose what life they are handed, but they all deserve a special celebration just for them on their one day a year that’s just for them. Join and bake when you have a spare afternoon or are feeling lonely. This will give you such a great feeling knowing you’ve made a child’s day amazing when it most likely wouldn’t have been celebrated much at all. I take donations towards my cake donations if you’d like a cake made by me and delivered by me from you. I will tag you in the post as well to share the excitement of making a difference.

One of the best parts of my job, is the feedback photos I get of where my cakes go and seeing the joy they bring. I thrive on positive vibes and I’ve never met someone who gets upset when you give them a yummy dessert. Especially if it’s personalized specifically to their taste. I truly love my job.

A very particular 9 yr old client wanting cupcakes for her birthday. Very “tea party” themed with mint green and pink Swiss meringue buttercream. Her more specific details were: a mint leaf per cupcake, a full strawberry or chocolate chip as well, strawberry cupcakes filled with strawberry purée and chocolate filled with chocolate chips and ganache. Look forward to hearing her birthday request next year and hope this one hit the mark for her mature birthday.

I call this "Dino Party". Dinosaurs having their own birthday party celebrating a kiddos birthday at the same time. This was a tiny 4 inch cake and it was fun trying to see how tiny I could make all the decor out of fondant and actually still have a lot of fun detail.
