To those of you that order custom cakes, have to wait at pick up, and still return to me…. Thank you, just.. thank you. I appreciate you more than you could understand. I make everything as fresh as possible, day of, and am still decorating when you walk in so that I can hand over the freshest, custom-created cookie cake possible. Sometimes temperature, humidity, color setting (because yes, I hand mix colors as well) can take longer than anticipated, temperament of ingredients change, or I need to alter part of the design. (Or ya know, I’m human, and a mom doing this on her own 🤪 )
It is sooo hard to explain that my affordability does not come from cheap, time-free cakes that are duplicatable. It is because we all deserve to afford a big, fresh, doodled on cookie that is genuinely made with love, laughter, learning, etc. Life is hard enough
I do this because I LOVE it, because I love the end result when I can do what I do best, when I see a trainee feel great about a new technique, when I see a stressed parent or partner relax their shoulders for just a second out of their day, when people work here and look happier leaving than coming in..
There is nothing you can spend here that doesn’t go back into the store, the employees, or community. I, from the bottom of my heart, just do this so people still have a reason to smile. (Listen, one day I’d still love for this to support me, trust me 😂)
There is nothing AI, copy and pasted, stream lined, etc about SJCC. We’re here because we want to be. And for those of you that still remember what supporting a small business means, thank you for keeping this place alive 🩷
I also do my best with making it easy to order - I personally just learn as I can on making my websites, forms, and back end operations because that is what is affordable to this place - I know it’s difficult sometimes, but I promise it’s all worth it. If anything, taste and freshness is a constant variable that will NEVER change 🫶🫶🫶
