My take on the viral Dotcake: I call it Not the Dot Cake 🫒

Absolutely no hate on this trend, it’s just that I’m not a big fan of sprinkles. In 11 years of cake decorating, I’ve probably used sprinkles fewer than five times. So I made mine with a cloud-like vanilla chiffon cake, Chantilly cream, and a dusting of freeze-dried fruit powder (strawberry and mangoπŸ“πŸ₯­) No crunch, but colorful and absolutely delicious 🀀 Would you try these?

Here’s how I saved lots of money (no, not by switching to Geico πŸ˜‚) but by making my own sticker labels.

When I still had my bakeshop, I used to order my custom made labels online. We used lots and lots of labels for every bread, pastry, cupcake, cake and other dessert we had in the shop. Imagine the amount of labels I had to order! There were also many times we ran out because we were waiting for a new shipment to arrive in the mail.

Then I discovered thermal printers and honestly they were a game changer. I was able to easily make changes to each label whenever needed. It was much cheaper and you never have to buy ink refills or cartridges. Plus, it prints within seconds. The only downside is it only prints in black, but honestly I didn’t need color labels anyway.

Aside from running, I’ve been busy this week getting ready for my first big batch of Cloud Flight orders this Friday ✨

Each flight set comes with six assorted chiffon cake flavors, and today I made this sample pack featuring just the fresh fruit flavors. Honestly, this flavor has been such a hit since I started making them a couple weeks ago. I even got another order for it today 🫢🏼

Overall, I’m just so in love with how the whole flight set turned out 😊
