What we have planned vs what God has planned…

Last night we picked the rest of the garden in preparation for the freeze, so naturally today I was going to make several jams and preserve the harvest. 🤩

Well, late last night, we got a call our daughter blew out her tire (she’s an hour away). Thankfully she was ok and no damage to her car. She had already called roadside assistance but also called us. I am so thankful she did! Well, after 4 hours they still hadn’t found a driver 😭 We ended up taking her home and coming back home for 2 hours of sleep.

We drove back out there, got her tire off, and went to discount tire. They got it replaced and we dropped off her car shortly after she woke up. Praise the Lord 🙌🏻 He was watching over her and us while we were out there. The tire was thankfully covered under warranty, hallelujah!

We no sooner pulled in the driveway and I get a text, our chickens are ready to pickup, already? 😳 Well now getting anything accomplished that I set out to do is not happening.

All that to say, we can make the best plans and lay them out, but God has better plans for your day! We were able to help our daughter out of a predicament, provide her peace, and spend some time with her. We could’ve gotten upset at the things we weren’t able to accomplish, but instead, we chose to celebrate being there for our child when she needed us most.

When we look at the unexpected blessings in the everyday things, our perspective looks different. Change your thoughts, to change your outcomes and find the peace and blessings in our day to day lives.

As I was thinking this morning about the list of things I need to get accomplished today, it was a list far too long to complete in one day. I start out with the best intentions for everything I want to do that day and I get some but not all things done because something inevitably pops up and takes precedence.

We often fill our plate so full, we’re running around trying to get everything accomplished and forget that joy can be found in those moments. Are those things you’re living in something you prayed for at one time? I sure am, thank you, Lord!

The exhaustion is real because, in my case, I put my expectations way too high. Being ok with not checking everything off my to do list that day is a shift I have to make and feeling accomplished with what I did get done that day.

I read this passage this morning and it spoke to me because, at times, we are so exhausted but the Lord says to: Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

If you need peace and rest, come to Him and invite Him in, He will help you through and the peace found within the Lord is a peace we will truly never know until we find it.

Thank you everyone who stopped out to see us at the BPS Lied Activity Center Fall Craft Fair yesterday! We had great conversations, met some new faces and shared some bread. We can’t wait to see everyone again soon
