Spread Thin - A Mother's Bakery Spread Thin Bakery is a home-based cakery owned and operated by Ashley Jantz. I began Spread Thin Bakery in May of 2008 by pure accident.

It has been a joy to watch my business grow through the support of family, friends and faithful customers. I specialize in custom-order wedding cake, party cakes and cupcakes. Your imagination is the limit! I am not currently taking orders, although I still do an occasional cake here and there for my family or close friends. I am trying to keep my page updated, though, so that when life affords me the opportunity to start decorating again, I won't have too much catch-up work.

A simple cake exquisitely decorated by a talented florist for the bride and groom to cut and serve to one another 🤩 Amazingly enough this special cake is both egg and dairy free, but featured a sweet raspberry filling that I fretted would wind up on ther bride's gown. It did not, thank goodness!

I've often warned brides against saving the top tier of their wedding cake for their first anniversary, but not anymore! Last year I decided to run a little experiment with my son's leftover birthday cake. I saved three sections each the size of a traditional top tier, wrapped them tightly in two layers of plastic wrap and one layer of aluminum foil and popped them into the deep freeze. Each quarter we've pulled out a section to test it's taste.

Today we ate a piece that has been in the freezer for 10 months, 1 week and three days and it still tasted great! So go ahead and save your top tier brides; we don't have enough traditions anymore. I think we should keep this one.

Looks like I'll be making Ken Molay and Alexis Molay's wedding cake in May ... yes, they're already married, six years and counting, but they didn't have a ceremony and they are going to fix that!
