There seems to be a little confusion after my holiday post, so I wanted to clarify exactly what The Homestead is.
We are not a restaurant or diner. We don’t have a kitchen or a menu of made-to-order meals. Unless you’re down to open a fresh baked sourdough and eat it without remorse.
The Homestead is a farm-to-table market and small-town gathering place where you can shop for locally made and locally raised products, including:
• Home-raised Nebraska beef and pork
• Cottage-baked breads and other baked goods
• Locally made, all-natural products
• Specialty foods and pantry items
• The occasional par-baked pizza, ready to take home and pop in your oven
And yes… you can also pull up a chair and have a drink. We serve Nebraska-brewed beers, domestics, and a very small selection of liquor.
We created The Homestead to be a place where you can shop local, support Nebraska producers, have a cold drink, visit with your neighbors, and maybe discover something you didn’t know you needed.
If you haven’t stopped in yet, come see what we’re about. You don’t have to buy a thing. It’s perfectly okay to wander in, browse the shelves, check out the old building and our replicated photos of Belgrades history, or just sit down and visit for a while.
I’m looking to make the Homestead magical for the holidays and we are working with community members in making Belgrade THE spot for Christmas. 🎅
