Not every angel has wings. Some have four paws, a black patch around one eye, and a heart that refuses to give up.

Angel has been waiting far longer than she should have to for a family of her own. In fact, she was selected to participate in the prison training program, where she spent several months learning, growing, and preparing for life with a family. Dog after dog from the program found their homes.

But not Angel.

Today, Angel is back at the shelter, and heartbreakingly, she is the only dog from her prison program group who has not been adopted.

We don’t understand how she continues to be overlooked.

Angel is sweet, beautiful, and full of love. She has put in the work, patiently waited her turn, and watched others leave while she remained behind. Yet every day she still greets people with hope in her eyes, believing that her family is out there somewhere.

Angel deserves more than a kennel. She deserves a soft bed, a family to call her own, and the chance to finally leave shelter life behind forever.

Please help us show Angel that her wait was worth it. Share her story, tag a friend, or better yet, come meet this incredible girl. Let’s make sure Angel is the next one to go home.

Female, staff at Los Lunas Animal Clinic reported having trapped the animal outside of their clinic. She was turned over to ACOs. She is currently at the Valencia County Animal Shelter.
