I’ve seen too many people getting shut down because people just can’t mind their business. If anyone needs to know, I have my food safety certification and I follow all cottage bakery rules. I would love to make a porch bakery or cooler cart for other items I would love to do. But if no one can mind their business and try to get me shut down I don’t want to run that risk.
I HAVE LITERALLY HAD ENOUGH.
I normally try to keep things pretty positive on this page, but at this point, something needs to be said.
Please stop policing cottage bakers and small home-based businesses.
We are out here trying to make a living. We’re trying to help support our families. We’re buying ingredients, paying for packaging, spending countless hours baking, cleaning, labeling, answering messages, filling orders, and trying to build something of our own.
And lately, it feels like some nosy bodies are far more interested in figuring out what cottage bakers are doing, where they’re selling, whether they’re “allowed” to do it, who has supposedly been “shut down,” and what another baker was allegedly told than they are in simply letting people run their businesses.
I have had enough of it.
If you have a legitimate question about my products, ingredients, ordering, pickup, Dough Buckets, or anything else related to actually purchasing from Cozy Dough Cookies, ask away. I am always happy to help my customers.
But the constant questioning, policing, reporting, investigating, and inserting yourself into somebody else’s small business needs to stop.
These aren’t giant corporations you’re messing with. These are families. These are moms and dads trying to bring in extra income. These are people working late at night after their kids go to bed, spending their own money, and putting everything they’ve got into trying to build something.
If a cottage baker isn’t for you, don’t buy from them. It’s really that simple.
Support us, scroll past us, and let us work.
But if your hobby is policing, investigating, reporting, and sticking your nose into the businesses of people who are simply trying to support their families…
GET A LIFE AND GO POUND SAND.
I’ve officially said what I needed to say.
