I made a lot of pies, and ended up with bits of fillings leftover. My French au gratin dishes were perfect for making mini pies with it!
It made me think of a story I love to tell about my dad, Will Deyo. Maybe you remember him?! He and my mom owned the bakery from the late 70s till I bought it in 1994. Anyway, I think Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday...he loved food! After the feast, whoever was doling out pie would ask "what kind of pie would you like, Will? Pumpkin, apple, pecan, cherry, blueberry, or banana cream?" His answer? "Yes!"!!
