We are proud to announce that Terri and Kerry Tucker are winners of the ISSMA Service Award.
Kerry is the epitome of selfless service. For many years, he has been the face of our parent organization and a constant, dependable presence in our program. Every fall weekend, Kerry can be found loading and unloading trailers, ensuring our students and staff have what they need to be successful. He spends countless hours building props for all of our performing ensembles, including marching band, show choir, winter guard, and winter percussion. He is actively involved in our fundraisers and serves as the emcee for our largest annual fundraising event each spring.
Remarkably, Kerry continues to volunteer at this level even though his children graduated years ago. He returns season after season, not out of obligation, but out of a genuine commitment to our students and the value of music education.
Beyond giving his time, Kerry and his wife, Terri, are exceptionally generous in their financial support of the program. Kerry routinely purchases prop-building materials out of pocket and, rather than requesting reimbursement, asks that the funds be applied to the account of a student in need of financial assistance. Terri regularly donates items for our raffle events and consistently supports our program through our Scrip gift card program, directing those proceeds back to the music department.
Both Kerry and Terri prefer to remain behind the scenes, yet their impact on our program is profound. They believe deeply in the performing arts and the opportunities music education provides for students—an impact they witnessed firsthand through their own children and continue to support for others at Beech Grove.
Please join us in celebrating this award with this amazing family.
