We are SO excited for this one!! ❤️

In just 3 WEEKS, Front Porch Sweets will be setting up at the Adult Book Fair in Milesburg, and look who’s sitting right at the top of that vendor list! 👀😏

That’s right — your favorite local sweet dealers will be there! 😂🍪🍰

This is going to be such a cool event with local authors, small businesses, vendors, and an entire community coming together under one roof. We’re seriously excited to be a part of it!

And you KNOW Front Porch Sweets isn’t showing up empty-handed. 😏 We’ll be bringing the GOOD STUFF and making sure that stand is stocked and ready! 🍰🍪🥨❤️

🏫 Also, with school officially back in session, you’ll notice our hours changing a little. We’ll generally be wrapping things up earlier in the evenings moving forward so we can keep family and school schedules where they need to be.

❤️ AND WE HAVE SOMETHING IMPORTANT WE WANT TO SHARE…

After Adrienne and I sat down and talked about what we wanted to do with Front Porch Sweets moving forward, we decided that the LAST DAY we’re open each week is going to have a little more meaning.

We’re going to alternate between two things:

❤️ CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY — remaining sweets will be offered at discounted prices as our way of saying thank you for supporting us.

OR…

🤝 GIVING BACK DAY — remaining inventory will be donated to Out of the Cold, a homeless shelter in State College.

And that second one is extremely personal to our family — particularly to me, Brandon.

Some of you may not know this part of my story.

About nine years ago, I was homeless myself.

I’ve slept on benches. I’ve slept underneath bridges in New York City. I’ve slept on trains just to have somewhere to be. There were points where things got so bad that I was literally eating out of trash cans because I had nothing else.

And when I eventually came back to Pennsylvania, homelessness was still a part of my life for some time.

Out of the Cold was one of the organizations I personally received help from during that chapter of my life.

Not Adrienne — ME. 😂 I figured I better make that clear before I accidentally drag her into my old shenanigans.

Life definitely wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows.

But life can change in ways you never expect. Sometimes meeting the right person pushes you to become someone you didn’t even realize you were capable of becoming. ❤️

Fast-forward roughly nine years and Adrienne and I are raising our family, running businesses together, and now we’re in a position where something as simple as leftover baked goods can potentially make somebody else’s difficult day a little better.

That makes this one pretty sentimental for us.

We know a bag of sweets isn’t going to change somebody’s entire situation.

But sometimes when you’re going through one of the hardest periods of your life, a little kindness can mean a whole lot more than the person giving it realizes.

And Front Porch Sweets was built around COMMUNITY. ❤️

So some weeks we’ll thank YOU with discounted goodies, and other weeks we’ll take whatever we have remaining and use it to show a little love to somebody who might need it.

That’s something we’re pretty damn proud to make a part of Front Porch Sweets. ❤️

🏫 With school starting back up, our hours will also be changing. Going forward, we’ll be opening earlier and closing around 7:00 PM instead of staying open as late. Once we get our new opening times figured out, we’ll keep everybody updated!

❤️ MILESBURG… YOU GUYS SHOWED OUT TODAY! ❤️

We genuinely don’t even know where to start.

From the moment we pulled up this morning, you guys were READY for us. 😂 We were basically bum-rushed before we even had the bake stand unloaded off the trailer or the kids out and settled! There were already people waiting patiently for us to get set up, and from that moment on, the traffic stayed consistent throughout the day.

We showed up… and MILESBURG SHOWED OUT. 🙌❤️

We truly did NOT expect the amount of love and support we were blessed with today. Especially with the traditional Grange Fair happening right now, the fact that so many of you still took time out of your Sunday to come find us, support our little family business, grab some sweets, check out our new Cake Pop Dealer cart, and show us love means more than we could ever put into words.

And can we talk about that inventory?! 😳😂

We came prepared thinking we’d probably be loading quite a bit back up at the end of the day…

NOPE. 😂

You guys had that inventory FLYING off the shelves. We’re basically heading home EMPTY-HANDED compared to what we showed up with! THAT is something we absolutely did not expect, and we couldn’t be more thankful. ❤️

⛈️ With a thunderstorm moving in, we’re going to go ahead and CLOSE UP FOR TODAY and get everybody and everything packed up safely.

Well, after everything life has thrown at us lately — running two businesses, raising three kids, dealing with equipment problems, schedules, setbacks and everything else that comes with life — we FINALLY got the chance to circle back around and finish what we started.
