In recognition of Foster Care Awareness Month, Kenzie’s Kakes and Coffee is proud to partner with Pressley Ridge to raise awareness about the urgent need for foster families across West Virginia. This collaboration aims to educate the community, inspire action, and support youth in need of safe, stable, and nurturing homes. West Virginia continues to face a significant shortage of foster families, leaving many children without stable placements.
Kenzie’s Kakes and Coffee is a community-focused bakery and coffee shop that is committed to making a positive impact on our small community. Pressley Ridge is a non-profit organization serving 7 states and over 8,000 youth annually. Pressley Ridge remains dedicated to providing hope and support to children and families. This partnership represents a shared commitment to uplifting vulnerable youth and strengthening families across West Virginia. Together, Kenzie’s Kakes and Coffee and Pressley Ridge can spark meaningful conversations, inspire action, and bring hope to children in need of loving homes.

This month there are 6 very special drinks that have been created for Foster Care Awareness Month. The first 25 customers that purchase a monthly special will receive a Pressley Ridge tumbler. Beaver location only.
The Tenderheart Bear represents empathy. Many children in Foster Care carry so much hurt, this bear’s characteristic highlights “The Gentle Hug”.
This latte has honey, cookie butter, and white chocolate.
The Funshine Bear brings joy and light-even on hard days. For Foster youth, moments of laughter and normalcy can be incredibly healing. This bear represents vibrancy and uplifting feelings of joy.
This refresher includes a tropical lemonade with pineapple and mango.
Love-A-Lot Bear represents unconditional love-the kind that every child deserves. Foster families offer, protection, patience, and care.
“The Open Heart” features a raspberry and white chocolate cold brew with raspberry cold foam with white chocolate drizzle.
Care-A-Lot Bear symbolizes safety, stability, and consistency. Many foster youth long for these feelings and sometimes are not able to identify what they are longing for. This drink reflects on the ability to refresh, recharge, and exhale.
This refresher includes energy from a sherbert Alani with a little bit of cream to encourage balance.
Share Bear represents generosity and community. Supporting foster care isn’t just for foster parents and families, because it takes a whole community showing up in small and big ways.
“The sweet share” is a Dirty Grape and Blueberry soda with a cute lollipop to represent the nostalgic and fun bear.
Lastly, Kenzie’s Bear symbolizes the dedication, support, and care that Kenzie radiates daily. Pink represents love, nurture, and emotional care, while turquoise represents calm, safety, and trust. Together these colors reflect what every child in foster care deserves: a place where they feel both loved and safe.
“The Heart Behind it all” is a frappe is white chocolate, vanilla, and cupcake topped with whipped cream and drizzled with pink, white chocolate.
