The funniest part of the dessert bar….. the little bowl you see under the pretty plate.. it’s of shavings/carving pieces (extras) and THOSE were the first thing people grabbed 🤣😂🤣
Cause. Sometimes you just want a bite. Sometimes you want the whole thing and other times… just a bite.
Millionaire shortbread is soooo good. I like customize it based on flavor profile of my guests. Do they like coffee, probably going to use dark chocolate. Middle of the road, semi is a good bet. And for those hummingbirds like me… milk chocolate all the way.

Brownies for a dessert bar for my middle kid last weekend who turned SIXTEEN!!!
I remember the themed parties and cakes when they were younger and we’ve officially transitioned to “meh, I don’t want a party.”
So, it was open house style where friends and family dropped by and got to celebrate my wonderfully sweet, tender-hearted, driven, and determined middle kid. Middle children, I see you. You’re tough as nails and determined AF to not let anyone see your under belly cause it’s a tough world out there. But I love you. Full stop.

I had an idea with this cake… how do you make it chocolatey and peanut buttery but not tooo rich???

Chocolate cake. Peanut butter frosting with semi sweet ganache. The outside…. Milk chocolate Italian meringue buttercream. It’s a perfect balance…. Not too rich, not too sweet…. Juuuuust right. Hells bells yeasssss. And a salted caramel drizzle.
Nailed it!!!

You pick the ice cream and it gets sandwiched in between two layers of cake and frosted with whipped cream deliciousness. Yup.

The cool part of my job… I get to make kids smile.
I’ve now been making cakes for you guys for NINE years and I get to see your kids grow up and it’s so fun. What they pick when they are 5 isn’t the same as when they are 12. And it’s the coolest thing to be a part of. Speaking of…. My oldest graduates high school in 4 weeks. Whaatttttttt?!?!
Keep on keeping on. We got this.
