Our Beaverton location may have closed and transformed into a Spielman Bagels...but the legacy is still shining through. -Not just literally on the store signage, but also in their pastry case!

You can still get our signature PIG NEWTONS, PRINCESS CAKE and NEW YORK CRUMB CAKE at this Spielman Bagels location at 4130 SW 117th in Beaverton!!

Sunday, November 11th Veteran's Day) is our 10th anniversary! Seems like another lifetime when we opened our doors in that little shop 1/2 block east of where we are now. We'll be in a celebrating mood on Sunday and we'd love to share the day with you. Grant Law is going to provide some live acoustic music, and we're not sure what else is going to happen, but one thing we know for sure: you, our neighbors and our customers and friends, have supported us through good times and tough times. Sometimes we've been nice to you, sometimes grumpy, sometimes crazy (!) but you have hung in there with us through it all. Thank you so much. We are hoping for another 10 years at least with all of you, making coffee and cake and breakfast sammies and shooting the breeze. Friends, we are going to be closing our doors at both Beaverton and Fremont Jim and Patty’s after close of business on November 11, 2024. This will mark our 22nd anniversary. We want to go out celebrating. We’d love to see you between now and then, and your visits will help us fund our final payroll. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support through the fundraiser and the auction and through all the years since we first opened our doors at 5015 NE Fremont. It’s been wonderful. We have so many friends, so many memories, a lot of joy and a lot of heartache that you have shared with us over the years. You have taken care of us through it all. Thank you for everything.

Now I will need to find a job. If anyone has any ideas for an old lady who has been off the job market for over 40 years, let me know! I’m a pretty reliable old gal, I’m honest, and I still more or less have my wits about me. :)

Jim's toughest critic was always himself. There were only a few of his creations that he allowed himself to express great pride in: His children, his coffee legacy... but probably most of all- his recipe for moist, fluffy Famous Original Sour Cream Coffee Cake.
