🚫 Think Groups are dead? Think again!
Facebook Groups just got their own App called Forum (this takes me back to the days when forums were alive and well and Groups were just a figment of the imagination... ah yes, the circle of life).
You can still access your Groups from Facebook itself, but the Forums App is just a feed full of posts from every group you’re part of.
What shows up in your notifications on the new app? Just ones related to Groups. I can’t see if someone commented on my personal profile, but I can see comments on posts I made inside a Group.
There is also a feature on the app called “Ask”. It’s in Beta. I typed “Virginia Beach” into the bar and it brought up group posts (organized by Ai) related to VA Beach. Family friendly attractions with a list of them plus a place to click to the Group Post. You’ll never guess- it’s only pulling from Public Groups which makes sense why Facebook was pushing so hard for Groups to go public.
From the Forum App, you can create a post and share it into the Groups you are part of! I can also click on my Profile within the Forums app to see every post I’ve made in random groups, the comments I’ve left, reactions I’ve done and when I last visited.
Will you be downloading the new app?
