Do you know the Rao's origin story?
Rao's Bakery was founded in 1941 by Johnny Rao. Johnny Rao and family opened the bakery at its present location, the corner of 10th and Calder in Beaumont, Texas. The bakery was known for its Italian cream cakes, cookies, and cream puffs. Through the years Rao's had several different owners, but its doors never closed.
What is your favorite Rao's memory?

A Muffaletta - the Italian sandwich that is unknown in Italy. It was actually created in New Orleans!
It all started with the bread from which it takes its name, muffuletto being a traditional Sicilian bread and the sandwich was built from there.

The Texas Bucket List – Maceo Spice and Import Company in Galveston
The Tortorice family was very sad to learn that our cousin, Ronnie Maceo, passed yesterday. We have such great memories of Ronnie and all of his stories he shared with us over the years. We have especially enjoyed these last few years working with our Galveston cousins Ronnie, Concetta and the Maceo Spice and Import Company team. We will keep all of the Maceo’s in our prayers and will be thinking about Ronnie every time we enjoy a Muffeletta.

Ok so we go to raos last night for dessert 3 of us have masks on 1 doesnt due to medical issues. Raos informs her she has to wear a mask or leave, she informs them she medically is unable to, they dont care. She asks for their information so she can call and complain later then exits the bakery. The other 3 of us get our desserts and join us outside. We eat talk have the fun we would've had inside outside. The manager that told my friend she had to wear mask then comes and informs us she called the cops telling them we were yelling at customers. This never happened and we were never asked to leave we were paying customers eating outside, but once she informed us of this we left.

I can NOT thank raos and the cake decorator who made our little girls "slime" birthday a reality! Due to Laura, it was a rough bday for her but Raos and a special decorator put a smile on our babys face❤ Thank you!!!!!!

Specifically told them not to close the box bc we knew it would break the cake. The girl boxing it up closed it all the way, and then opened it a little and taped it and said it’s fine. Now we have a broken cake... 😒

Quality of cakes and baked goods are a 1 on a scale of 1-10. Stop selling stale baked goods to customers! Fresh food and drink items is ALWAYS BEST! Show concern Rao's when customers bring to your attention poor quality whether it is your items sold or customer service. It REALLY DOES MATTER in the long run.
Unfortunately, due to the circumstances being what they are, my little sister had to cancel her wedding.
