Can anybody use some Plexiglass display cases? I have one that's 30" x 36" x 28"high with a wooden base. I also have some plexiglass cubes 16";8";two 6";two 3".

I wanted to share my recent entry for the National Pastry Conference. Many thanks to The Sweet Chalet Shoppe for the SmartFlex products used for the face, arms and feet, Artisan Accents gel colors along with Simi Cakes Isomalt. The flexible materials (tablecloth, flag, dress trim, maps) were created with Flexique painted over printed wafer paper.
Here is some of the symbolism reflected in the piece:
• The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. On Memorial Day it is common to see a red poppy which symbolizes the blood shed during battle as highlighted in the wartime poem – “In Flanders Field”. These delicate yet resilient blooms have become a universal symbol of remembrance, hope, and resilience. The poppies and poem are displayed on the table cloth
• The round cake base is covered with sections of world maps depicting global warfare or international conflict.
• The modified battlefield cross is a temporary memorial for a fallen soldier and includes:
o The Helmet signifying a fallen soldier
o Combat boots which represent the soldier's final march in their last battle
o Dog tags indicating the soldier will "never to be forgotten"
o The empty rifle signals a time for prayer or a break in action to honor a comrade
It conveys respect for patriotic sacrifice in response to grief and has become the symbol of loss, of mourning and closure for the living.
• The rifle in the battlefield cross is portrayed alongside the American flag linking it to patriotism. The flag typically drapes the soldier’s casket. The soldier’s wife is wiping her tears with the flag which is attached to the rifle.
• She is also holding a purple heart which is a distinguished military decoration awarded in the name of the President to those who have been wounded or killed while serving in the U.S. armed forces. It is considered a solemn distinction that recognizes a service member's sacrifice. This one is a replica of my husband Joe Bawol's father's purple heart medal.
• The mother mourns the loss of a husband and sheds a tear of sadness. The child feels that sadness from her mother and clutches her doll as she hangs on to her mother’s dress.

It seems to be a trend among my circle of friends and I’m hopping on that train. I have pulled the plug on my cake decorating business - Unique Cakes. It’s been a challenging but very rewarding experience and I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout the journey.
What I’m left with is a large inventory of equipment and cake supplies which I will be trying to sell.
If you are or know of a cake decorator who is starting their business, especially located on the northeast coast, please know that there are some very tremendous deals you can take advantage of during this liquidation here in Virginia.
I do have a lot of items like cake pans, cake safes, air brushes, printer, desk, Cricut cake machine with cartridges, stainless steel worktables, mixer, cake stands and a plethora of accessories (shape cutters, molds, impression/lace mats, etc). I also have a tub of bulk teaching supplies for those of you who teach classes.
