A few life updates for my favorite people 💜💚💛
In September I accepted a leadership position at (my favorite bakery in Baton Rouge!) working for my dear friend . I went from helping out here and there to being the assistant manager almost overnight, but I was so excited to jump back into bakery life after leaving to have my first baby back in 2018!
THE DAY AFTER I said yes to the new position I found out that I’m pregnant for the third time since our move to Baton Rouge in 2022. If you know me and do the math, you’ll realize that that means I’ve gotten pregnant every year since we moved here- but each pregnancy ended in a loss until this one. So it has been a time of extremes! Overjoyed to finally have our third baby on the way after multiple losses, honored and delighted to be working at Counterspace, but also shaking my fist at the universe for making all these things collide!
I also have been growing my business at an almost unprecedented rate for Sweet Joy- posting has fallen by the wayside since my life has gotten so busy, but my books have stayed full and I’ve gotten to meet so many wonderful clients and regulars on this Baton Rouge journey.
I still play 🎺! Which sometimes means multiple rehearsals a week, depending on the season.
If you’re still reading, bless you- all this to say, I’m going to stop taking orders for custom cookies in March. Something has to give and I need time to prepare for our last baby and soak in the last few weeks of life with 2 kids in the house!
