Speaking of Challah . . .

Public Service Announcement

After years of baking bread, decorating cakes, and putting my hands through more work than they were apparently designed for, they've finally decided to stage a rebellion.

So, I'll be having carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand on June 26, followed by my left hand a few weeks later.

The good news? I'm left-handed, so when the right hand is out of commission, I'll still be mostly functional.

The bad news? When it's time for surgery on my left hand . . . well . . . thoughts and prayers.

Apparently, "just keep baking through it" was not the medically recommended treatment plan. Who knew?

Over the next couple of months, my baking schedule may look a little different while I recover and learn new ways to accomplish simple tasks.

If you see me attempting to knead dough, open containers, or carry twelve things at once with one hand, please remember that confidence and common sense are not always the same thing.

I'm looking forward to getting these hands fixed so I can get back to doing what I love without numb fingers, pain, and random bouts of dropping things.

Thank you all for your patience, support, and understanding while I undergo my bionic-hands upgrade.
