Come see me today at Meadows Pathways Salt Room - located in the same building as Sunshine Sisters Plant Shop in Batesville - from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm (or until sold out)!

Every dollar made or donated today will go directly to support the beautiful people of Boa Esperança, Brazil as part of my upcoming mission trip fundraiser. Because of incredible kindness and generosity, my trip has already been fully funded 🥹 which humbles me beyond words….
So today, this fundraiser is truly for THEM. ❤️

Both Meadows Pathways Salt Room and Sunshine Sisters are generously adding raffle opportunities to help raise even more money for the people of Brazil - I am beyond thankful for their support!

This will also be my last large baking/pick-up opportunity for quite some time as we focus on upcoming medical appointments for our son and prepare for my trip later this summer. I’ll still be posting occasionally and if I happen to have extras here and there, I’ll share them on the local page … but regular bakery offerings will be paused until late July - early August.

I believe every conversation, every experience, every person we cross paths with has the potential to teach us something. BUT… not every opinion deserves to become the foundation you build your life upon. 🌟

I believe deeply in learning from others … especially from those who have walked through the fire, who have lived what they speak, who lead with honesty and heart. But I also believe that your soul knows things long before your mind can explain them.
Not everyone is meant to guide your path.

👉 Some people are simply passing through it. 👈

Take what resonates. Leave what doesn’t.
Protect your peace, your vision, your softness, your becoming.
Because at the end of the day, we are all on our own sacred journey … walking each other home while still learning how to listen to ourselves.

Maybe that’s the real work…
to stay open enough to learn from others… while staying rooted enough not to abandon yourself in the process.

Personal Post + Summer Break 🇧🇷

Many of you know that I typically slow down a bit during the summer and only offer special bake days - but this summer my availability will be even more limited for two important reasons.

First, our family will be traveling to attend specialist appointments for our son, which has been weighing heavily on my heart lately.

Second, in late June, I have the incredible opportunity to return to Boa Esperança, Brazil on a mission trip with Community Church and World Renewal Brazil.

I went to this same village in 2024 and those two weeks changed me deeply. These are real kids with real names, stories, hugs, laughter and needs … and I feel unbelievably blessed to have the opportunity to go back and spend time with them again.

I’ve never been very good at asking for help. But I’ve had a few customers ask about summer plans/my mission trip so I wanted to share a little more about what this season looks like for our family and what is on my heart.

I’m learning that while not everyone is called to *go* … some people are called to *give* and I don’t want to take away the opportunity for others to be part of something meaningful.

Over the next few weeks before taking some time away from the bakery, I’ll be raising support for this mission trip through prayer, donations and a special pop-up event hosted by some amazing local women-owned businesses (more details coming soon 👀).

If you’d like to come alongside me on this trip through financial support, I’ll be accepting cash donations at pickups this week and next - or you can Venmo me directly. Every donation • big and small • will help to support my journey as well as the children and communities we’ll be serving in Brazil.

Most importantly, I would love your prayers - both for our family this summer and for our team as we prepare to serve these children and their community in Brazil.

Confession.
I wasted croissants.

Made extras with the intention of making and freezing breakfast croissant sandwiches for the kiddos. Then life happened - is May-cember over yet?! 😅 - and I forgot all about them…

But I couldn’t just throw them out. I had to open every. single. one. Because they all tell a story. Every croissant tells me how I can improve. Every crumb shows the work I’ve put in.

The finished croissant is amazing, sure. But honestly… the learning might be my favorite part. Every layer tells a story and even the “wasted” ones remind me how far I’ve come. 🥐❤️

When I first started baking sourdough, I thought under fermenting my dough was “safer” than over fermenting it. 😅

In this video, I’m showing two loaves:
🥖 One under fermented
🥖 One slightly over fermented

I pH tested both loaves, so I know exactly where they were in the fermentation process.

Here’s the thing… both loaves are still beautiful, edible loaves. Both are still far better than most store-bought breads filled with preservatives and endless ingredients. This isn’t about perfection or criticizing anyone’s process. ❤️

But if your goal is better digestibility for you and your family
—> fermentation matters!

During proper sourdough fermentation, the wild yeast and bacteria help break down starches, gluten and compounds like phytic acid. This is part of what can make sourdough easier for many people to digest and more nourishing overall.

When dough is under fermented, those processes simply haven’t had enough time to fully happen yet.

And while slightly over fermented dough may not bake up with the perfect structure, it can still offer more fermentation benefits than an under fermented loaf.

Learning fermentation takes time, observation, and hands-on practice. That’s part of what I love so much about teaching others. It’s a practice.

Baking is a beautiful process! And when we know better, we can do better. ❤️
