Finally my sourdough menu!! 😝The sourdough craze is real and so much easier to buy into than people realize. The sourdough highlight on my account will have more info about the benefits and process in days to come, so check it out if you're interested! 🥖🍞

Firstly, what is fermentation and why is it good for you? 🤔At a glance, fermentation, specifically in sourdough bread means that the good bacteria is breaking down the sugars in the dough and releasing carbon dioxide which is what causes the dough to expand and have bubbles/air pockets. This process starts once you mix your dough, and it is what gives sourdough its tang or sour flavor, the longer you ferment the stronger the flavor. 😲

The fermentation process also improves the digestability by breaking down gluten and phytic acid which makes it easier on the stomach, as well as helping control blood sugar levels due to its lower glycemic index compared to standard white bread, lastly it acts as as a prebiotic and feeds the good bacteria in your gut, also aiding in digestion. 🫨😱
