Our 2026 Summer Baking & Cooking Camp has finally come to an end! ❤️
More than 45 enthusiastic and passionate young chefs enrolled to spend 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks, using all five senses (and maybe a sixth—creativity! 😉) to make everything completely from scratch.
A big THANK YOU to our parter ST MARKS Church on 149 S Finley Ave Basking Ridge !
A Place of Worship and A place that spreads positivity, togetherness and encouragement to folks of all walks of life and faith !!
Every parent had a different goal.
Some wanted their children to stay away from screens. Some hoped their special-needs child would develop motor and sensory skills through hands-on learning. Some children joined because their siblings or best friends were attending, while others returned after attending last year’s camp.
Despite these different reasons, one common goal united everyone:
Every child’s happiness and their deep sense of accomplishment.
I carefully curated each week’s menu, keeping in mind food allergies, children’s interests, recipes that would keep returning campers excited, and dishes that may look intimidating but are actually surprisingly simple to recreate at home.
One of my biggest goals was to teach children that sugar should be enjoyed in moderation and that cooking is just as important as baking. That’s why every single day we made one savory dish and one sweet treat.
The yummiest food is often the simplest—made with clean, wholesome ingredients.
Many adults believe that learning to bake and cook isn’t as valuable as learning coding, sports, theater, dance, math, or chess.
But let me gently remind every adult of something…
The reason so many adults struggle with weight loss, spend money on nutritionists, or work endlessly in the gym often comes down to one thing: a lack of understanding about food and the importance of cooking wholesome meals at home.
“Abs are made in the kitchen.”
So I encourage every parent to give their children the confidence to recreate the foods they love from places like Dunkin’, Chipotle, Starbucks, and Taco Bell—right at home using simple, clean ingredients. They’ll not only learn an invaluable life skill but also understand exactly what goes into the food they eat.
To every child who attended, thank you for bringing your curiosity, enthusiasm, laughter, and endless creativity into my kitchen. You made these four weeks incredibly special. ❤️
