We don’t really McLove it 🤷🏼♂️
Lately as a local business it has been really amusing to watch these global billion dollar corporations try to come over into other markets. These companies have slowly been destroying themselves year after year—large price increases, lower quality, smaller portions, scaled back rewards, and poor care of the employees essential to making a business successful. Not to mention every one of these billion dollar companies now use AI to cut margins, as well as ask you to donate at every check out. Why? So they can use your money to donate under their name and take a tax break.
Needless to say, these companies are starting to be aware that they have inevitably shot themselves in the foot. So what do they do? They start hopping into trends and services that local businesses do to make themselves seem more appealing to the masses. Starbucks starts “writing on your cup” so you feel like you’re at your local coffee shop. McDonald’s starts selling dirty sodas and cold foam to skim the market. If you look around these massive companies are doing it everywhere(Taco Bell, Starbucks, McDonald’s,etc).
Maybe it’s us, but we aren’t buying it. Local and small businesses are the largest supporters of your community financially. They are the ones who pay for that sponsorship, that fundraiser, or that something special to help a community member who is down. And when these local businesses give back and put their time into the community, it is a direct connection and a trail you can follow. We believe in quality ingredients, local ingredients, fair prices, good service, and consistency when we see you and we know who each of you are. Our communities grow, expand, and create more opportunities when we invest locally. The global franchises don’t need any more money to pay their CEO’s $95 million dollars while they don’t even know their employees dreams or struggles.
So let the billionaires stick to what they do best: tracking stocks. We will keep putting out quality products at a fair price. We will keep building local community and the youth. I know we aren’t the only local business to notice these tactics lately, but we like a little competition(even if it’s out of our tax bracket). That’s what keeps us striving to be the best! ✌🏼
