🎪 Crumb One, Crumb All! 🎪

This June is all about the fathers baked into our lives.

Like mothers, dads are equally as important and deserve a whole month of celebration. From Gamer Dads chasing wins to Griller Dads sipping chasers while smoking the best meats you've ever tasted. Outdoorsy Dads teaching their kids how to catch a ball or a buck, to Indoorsy Dads who would rather spend the afternoon tucked away in a nook with a good book.

We celebrate the single dads doing the work of two parents, the moms who step up and fill both roles when life demands it, the fathers raising one child, and the fathers raising many. We celebrate the providers heading off to work each day so their families can thrive, and the dads cheering from the sidelines after a long shift. We celebrate the grandfathers, father figures, bonus dads, and mentors who choose to show up with love, guidance, and support.

No two fathers are exactly alike. Some teach us how to fish. Some teach us how to change a tire. Some teach us how to beat the final boss. Some teach us that the greatest strength is simply being there when it matters most.

Freshly foraged lilacs, transformed into something sweet. 🌸

This dreamy lemon-lilac layer cake features homemade lilac syrup and lilac sugar made from blossoms gathered right here in Maine. The result is a delicate floral cake with bright lemon notes and a touch of spring in every bite.

Available as a custom layer cake for a limited time while our lilac supply lasts.

Lilacs, not only beautiful and fragrant, but edible too!

The family went for a walk this evening and foraged some lilacs. If you've got lilacs blooming nearby, here are a few ways to enjoy them:

🌸 Put the blossoms in 70-proof alcohol and forget about them for a few months. When you remember them again, you'll have homemade lilac extract.

🌸 Dry the petals, grind them into a powder, and mix them with sugar to make a beautifully fragrant lilac sugar. Use it in cookies, cakes, or to sweeten tea.

🌸 Infuse honey with the blossoms for a delicate floral honey.

🌸 Add fresh petals to salads or other fresh dishes for a pop of color and flavor.

🌸 Make a lilac syrup! That's my plan. I'm thinking a lemon cake soaked with lilac simple syrup sounds pretty amazing. 😋
