Very interesting for Bangor
The City of Bangor is considering a change to the growth boundary that was outlined in the 2022 Comprehensive Plan. To discuss the proposed change and answer questions from the public, the City will be hosting a public workshop on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. in Rangeley Hall at 268 Sylvan Road in Bangor.
Overview:
๐จThis change would add one parcel on the corner of Stillwater Avenue and Kittredge Road to the designated growth area.
๐จThe exact parcel is Map-Lot R60-011-D and is the teal parcel outlined in cyan within the red circle in the attached map.
๐จThis change is being brought forward to allow for the development of a new VA hospital, but is also based on the parcel's proximity to water and sewer service and the pattern of existing commercial development located nearby.
๐จIf the growth boundary is amended, a zone change would also be needed for this parcel and a land development permit approved before a VA hospital or other intense commercial or institutional use could be constructed there.
