Please if you can share Rachel P***n’s go fund me or donate I would be beyond grateful. Rachel is dealing with a blood cancer that has changed everything in her life. There is one thing that it hasn’t and that is her love of the ocean. The Oregon coast is home for her but also is a harsh environment when she so desperately wants to feel the warm sun and warmer water surrounding her mind and body. Please read Rachels words on the go fund me page and you will understand how she loves life and tries to walk in this world with a smile on her face even though her body makes it nearly impossible.

I know all of our time is short but Rachel is in a critical situation.

Thank you.

Our friend Rachel has been battling leukemia for several years now. You… Frankie Urquhart needs your support for Getting Rachel some time in the Florida sun!

Dear loyal Seth's Sourdough customers and friends. After much deliberation and quite a few heartfelt late night and early morning discussions, we have come to a decision about the future of Seth's Sourdough in Bandon. This was not easy and there were a number of deciding factors, some of which are beyond our control at the moment and have nothing to do with the business.

We have decided to sell our house and bakery and move out of the area for now. If you are one of the people who has frequently walked by and admired the house and gardens, or if you have always wanted to run a small bakery, please let us know if you are interested.

Thank you for all of your support both personally and professionally over the past few years. Hopefully in the not too distant future, another incarnation of Seth's Sourdough will be formed in a different location. We will keep you updated.

Best wishes to you all,

Seth Biersner and Rachel P***n

Thank you for your continued support and patience this year. We have had a few unexpected bumps in the road, but through it all, you have stayed loyal to our products and we have felt your support, both personally and professionally. Our goal has been and will continue to be to maintain a high standard of quality and to provide you with nutritious, delicious, real bread.

EARLY CLOSURE-As you might have noticed, we had to shut down production a week earlier than expected. Rachel was hospitalized in Ashland on the 16th and underwent emergency surgery on the 17th of Nov. She is home now and healing, but did require some assistance, so I have been staying with her. We hope all of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving meal and apologize if it was missing sourdough stuffing.

JANUARY-I am still planning on re-opening in January as stated before. I will keep you posted at the end of the year, but you can definitely look forward to enjoying fresh bread this Winter.

I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to bake bread for you, and am looking forward to positive changes in the business next year. Have a happy holiday season.

Sincerely,

Seth Biersner

Good morning. Hopefully you have been enjoying fresh bread during the past few blustery days. Look forward to a couple of old favorites making their way back into the schedule this week. This Wednesday we will have Sundried Tomato and Cheddar on the shelves. It's the perfect accompaniment to a nice bowl of soup or makes excellent grilled cheese.

UGLY BREAD-Last Wednesday you might have noticed that some of the bread was marked down. Hopefully this just made you happy and you were able to look past the funny shapes and enjoy the flavor. I tried out some new help in the kitchen last Tuesday and let's just say that my method of forming is a little....okay, maybe a lot......different than what is usually taught and it is hard to break a new person of old habits, hence the ugly bread. It wasn't my ideal first day back, but at least I didn't catch anything on fire, or oversleep, or trip over the cat and fall in the pond on my way out to the bakery.....not too bad really.

DELIVERY SCHEDULE- Bread will be delivered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to Mother's Natural Grocery and Coos Head Food Co-Op.

WEDNESDAY BREAD
Sourdough
Multi Seed
Toasted Sesame
Cinnamon Raisin
Sundried Tomato and Cheddar

FRIDAY BREAD

DELICIOUS BREAD WILL BE AVAILABLE ONCE AGAIN NEXT WEEK!! Thank you for your patience. I will send out another message with the official date, but bread should be coming out of the oven late Monday morning........you can finally stop rationing the pieces in your freezer.

I am sharing this interview as well, as an update on what Rachel has been doing. It was emotional for her to give, but she hopes it is helpful in some way to others.

07/29/2014

Seth and his oven will not be baking for the rest of this week. This means yesterday was the final day to get bread until after the break. Sorry for the inconvenience if you ordered bread for later this week. Again, we thank you for your patience during this time and for your support.

Thank you,
Seth Biersner and Rachel P***n

Question for people with Ashland connections-We are looking to find a studio or room for rent in Ashland for at least a few months for Rachel so she can be closer to medical care.
